About
Northwind Notes is a small personal travel journal. It started as a folder of notes kept on long train rides and slowly turned into something worth tidying up.
The focus is on slow travel: trains instead of flights where possible, small towns instead of capitals, and a few days in one place rather than a few hours in many. Most trips here are in Russia, from the Volga to Lake Baikal.
Posts are written after the trip, once the photos are sorted and the details have settled. Prices and schedules change quickly, so treat practical notes as a starting point and check the current information before you go.
There are no ads, no tracking and no comments section. New posts appear when there is something worth writing about.
